Sriyan yearns for travel and relishes the great outdoors and wildlife. He enjoys photography and music and is passionate about Sri Lankan. He is the Group CEO of Abans, holds a First Class and a Masters, was MD/CEO of Teejay Lanka PLC, and previously the Country Manager of Microsoft. A former Peterite, he has several academic and business awards to his credit and is a frequent speaker at leading forums locally and globally. He is involved in chambers and in local and global charities and served many years on the Director Board of Youth Business International, which is one of Prince Charles’ Charities in UK.

Having functioned as an intraprenuer and an entrepreneur, Jehan CanagaRetna brings over 28 years of general management expertise with a strong emphaAvijja sis on marketing and business development. Described as energetic, focused and driven adopting a common sense approach, Jehan has built strong business relationships and contacts locally as well as internationally. Whilst studying and working in the US for 10 years, he has held positions of strength in companies such as Mast Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (now called Brandix Lanka) and MAS Active (Pvt) Ltd. Building a life on different passions in every decade of his adult life, Jehan’s key passion now is wildlife conservation. Retiring early from a corporate job, he will work tirelessly to help mitigate the human elephant conflict and spread the word of conservation amongst the younger generation. Jehan, Royalists holds a BA and MBA from the USA, and was a national poolist in the Rugby Team in 1986. He also completed 11 year honorary administrative tenure at CR & FC culminating in his Presidency in 2009 and 2010.

Ms Zaineb Akbarally
Zaineb Akbarally is an environmental scientist, conservationist and environmental educator. Zaineb, is the chairperson of the Youth Wing sub-committee of the WNPS that invests in engaging young people on environmental issues. She currently works at the Environmental Foundation (Guarantee) Limited (EFL) on biodiversity conservation research projects. She previously worked with Save the Elephants on the human-elephant co-existence initiative called "The Elephants and Bees project" in Kenya and Sri Lanka. She has a MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics and was a post-graduate fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, UK, in 2015/16.

Rajan Schooled at Trinity College Kandy and is currently the Coordinator of Hope Youth Foundation, an independent non-profit organization established in 2009 to provide a support system for youth in a safe and caring environment so they may grow to be healthy, self-sustaining adults. Ranjan who is strongly committed to conservation and a greener Island, considers his hobbies as Music, photography, Sports and Wildlife and anything with an adrenaline rush. Being a versatile musician playing several instruments such as the guitar and drums, he has spent several years being part of the band “Flame”.

A true lover of wildlife and the environment, Rahula considers himself of having a passion for nature photography. He has been a life member of WNPS for the past 15 years and has served in the General Committee since 2012 where he spent two terms as one of the Vice Presidents of the Society. A former President of the Burgher Recreation Club (BRC), Rahula owns and runs his own Trading, Hospitality and Tourism Company Starron as its current CEO.

Sarasi is in public communications and has a background in journalism and law. Believes we are the voice for animals. Is excited about sustainable wildlife conservation. Wants to leave a legacy for future generations where animals, born free stay free.

Avijja’s passion for wildlife was established at an early age which has resulted in a life-long obsession as he spends any spare time exploring our country’s rich biodiversity. Having completed a bachelor’s degree in Biodiversity and Conservation from the Macquarie University in Australia, he commenced a future career in a field that is very close to his heart. He has worked on conservation projects in Africa, learning the art of tracking big cats on foot and also has been involved in leopard identification work carried out in Sri Lanka with the Wilderness and Wildlife Trust. Avijja has also worked as a game ranger in Yala and Wilpattu and apart from being on the General Committee of WNPS, would like to give back to the Island that has given back so much to him.

Mr. Graham Marshall
Currently is the CEO of Industrial Solutions Cluster at CIC Holdings and Director of Thompson Associates Ceylon, a leading advertising agency. Graham has a MBA from PIM University of Sri Jayewardenepura and is a graduate from the Institute of Chemistry SL. He also has a Diploma in Marketing (CIMUk) and CMA (Aus). Graham worked at Akzo Nobel Paints, Kodak and Glaxo. Graham is an amateur birder and a wildlife enthusiast with the zest to do more in conservation.
